Ivy Lau

Ivy's roots in Silicon Valley go back to the 1980s, when she moved here from Hong Kong to attend San Jose State. She hit the ground running. With her first employer, H.M. Gousha Company, she quickly rose to become art director for Chevron USA Magazine.

But as Silicon Valley began booming in the late 1980s and early 1990s, she decided to launch her own business; her father, an accountant, had been an entrepreneur, and she liked dealing with different kinds of companies and people. She established Fomandy Design in 1991, naming the company after her daughter, Mandy (Fo-Mandy). www.fomandy.com

Since then, Ivy has focused her career on supplying top-notch graphic and web design expertise to some of Silicon Valley’s most notable companies: National Semiconductor, Intel, Fujitsu and Aperto Networks to name a few. She’s also provided creative design know-how to many of the Valley’s up-and-coming enterprises.

Her strengths, along with her creative design, are her business skills. She combines artistic talent and hard-nosed business skills, always meeting deadlines and budgets.
